Me llamo Dr. Best, ¡y hablo español! No soy hispánica, pero empecé a tomar clases del idioma cuando tenía 6 años, y entonces me especialicé en español en Princeton University. Pasé un semestre en Madrid durante la universidad, por eso tuve la oportunidad de mejorar mi vocabulario y conocer la cultura española. Cuando asistí a la escuela dental en la Universidad de Florida, tuve muchos pacientes que solamente hablan español, y también creé una clase de español dental para enseñar el vocabulario dental a mis compañeros.
Ahora vivimos en Concord, NC, y me encanta hablar en español con mis pacientes. Quiero que todos tengan acceso a un ortodoncista con quien puedan comunicarse y confiar. Durante la consulta, puedo explicar el plan de tratamiento en español. No tienes que llevar un traductor, y no tienes que preocuparte de que algo se pierda en la traducción.

My name is Dr. Best, and I speak Spanish! I am not hispanic, but I started to take language classes when I was 6 years old, and then I majored in Spanish at Princeton University. I spent a semester in Madrid during college, so I had the opportunity to improve my vocabulary and get to know the Spanish culture. When I attended dental school at the University of Florida, I had many patients who only spoke Spanish, and I also created a class to teach Spanish dental vocabulary to my classmates.
Now we live in Concord, NC, and I love speaking spanish with my patients. I want everyone to be able to have access to an orthodontist with whom they can communicate and in whom they can trust. During the consult, I can explain the treatment plan in Spanish. You don’t have to bring a translator, and you don’t have to worry that something will be lost in translation.
